T-shirt printing techniques
T-shirts printed with a company or club logo are ideal advertising media or can be used as club or company clothing if you want to appear in public as a unit. There are several t-shirt printing techniques that you should be aware of and weigh the pros and cons before hiring a printer to make your custom apparel. When choosing suitable T-shirt printing techniques, the order volume plays a decisive role. Some T-shirt printing techniques are suitable for small quantities, while other T-shirt printing techniques are only economical for larger quantities. The motif is just as decisive for the choice of T-shirt printing techniques, since not all printing processes can produce complex motifs.
One of the possible shirt printing techniques is flex printing, in which the contours of the motif are cut out of a film and applied to the fabric using a transfer press. Color brilliance, as well as high wash resistance and durability characterize this process. Color gradients and multicolored motifs cannot be implemented. shirt printing techniques also include the further development of flex printing, Digiflex printing, in which the desired motif is printed on a film before it is cut out and applied to the fabric. This enables the printing of complex motifs. Digiflex printing is more expensive, but the good quality justifies the price.
T Shirt Printing Techniques
Other T-shirt printing techniques are the two variants of flock printing that we use for custom printing in Dallas. The simple flock printing works like the flex printing, with the difference that that a film coated with textile flakes is used. Flock printing with a stencil is also possible, whereby first glue and then textile flocks are applied to the fabric. The silky surface looks classy and is washable, but only simple motifs with a maximum of three colors can be reproduced here. All T-shirt printing techniques mentioned so far are suitable for small runs. Screen or stencil printing is also one of the T-shirt printing techniques. The color is printed directly onto the fabric. In comparison to many other T-shirt printing techniques, complex motifs can be displayed. Brilliant, long-lasting colors characterize this printing process as well as high wash resistance.
For large motifs, screen printing is cheaper than transfer printing, but there are basic costs, because templates are required, which is why this process is only economical for larger quantities. Direct-to-garment printing is also one of the shirt printing techniques. With inkjet printers, the color is printed directly onto the fabric and then fixed with heat. This process is already suitable for small runs. In contrast to many other shirt printing techniques, direct textile printing can be used to implement every motif in detail. The print is durable and the garment is extremely easy to care for.
Digital transfer printing, also known as photo printing, is also one of the T-shirt printing techniques, but is not recommended. The motif is printed on a carrier foil, which is then completely pressed onto the shirt. Cracks can easily appear the colors fade quickly and are only displayed inadequately on a colored background. This method is one of the shirt printing techniques that is very cheap, but is by no means satisfactory. When ordering your company or club clothing, don’t just look at the price. It is worth investing in good service with competent advice and high-quality colors and fabrics.
